Thought I'd leave you all with a card we made last night at our 3rd night class at Inglewood High School.  We made this card in about 15 minutes, from start to finish, including sharing all the stuff between all the ladies, so a real quickie!  RECIPE: Stampsets : Reason To Smile, Flitting By Wheel.  Cardstock : Pale Plum, Elegant Eggplant, Very Vanilla.  Inkpads : Elegant Eggplant, Versamark.  Accessories : Heat & Stick, Dazzling Diamonds, Stampin' Write Markers.

Both Way Blossoms Winner

Roanne Lamb was the winner of the Both Way Blossoms level 2 hostess set.  Congratulations Roanne - hope you have lots of fun with it!  Roanne won this just by attending one of my classes during February, and she went in the draw to win the stamp set.  It's just as easy as that!    I still have places available at my $2 cards on Friday 7th March (Drop in any time from 6pm-10pm, just let me know if you're going to come along), and Technique Classes on either Saturday 29th or Sunday 30th March from 1-5pm.  The Technique class will be great - this is not for the faint hearted though, as we'll be making 10 complete cards, with 10 fab techniques, so be prepared to WORK!  And eat, of course!

Pre registration is essential for this class, as is pre-payment, so phone me on 06 7533736 if this sounds like you.

A Touch Of Nature

Good morning!   It's just a beautiful day in Taranaki today - the sun is shining, the birds are chirping, Riley Birthday 013

and the kids are all off on a beach walk/trip today, so that's where I'm heading very soon.   I thought I'd just have time to quickly upload my card that I did at a workshop on Tuesday night.

I have finally mounted my Touch of Nature stamp set, and am just LOVING IT!   Don't know why I waited so long.  I have once again used dazzling diamonds on this card (do you know I just loooove that stuff??) and of course my wonderful Stampin' Write markers to colour.   If you are desperate for the Stampin' Write Markers, like I was, then give me an email, and I'll tell you about my promotion that will be going on until the end of March for all my customers (new and old).   Enjoy your day!

WINNER OF THE 50-50 BOARD IS...

Raewyn Tuck!! Congratulations Raewyn - let me know what you'd like to spend your $50 Stampin' Up! Voucher on.
Thanks to all of you who played along, and spent $50 or more, and got your names on the board.

Take 10 Cards & Pay It Forward

As promised, here's the posting for today!   Three of the cards we made at Heartfelt Thanks Take 10 class.$2 Cards Feb 007$2 Cards Feb 009 $2 Cards Feb 008

The cards were all different, and we made two of each, so we have one to keep, and one to give away...  Yesterday I got a wonderful surprise given to me - An origami box filled with FIVE chocolate Hershey's Kisses.  Yes, only FIVE - I asked myself if the giver of the box may have eaten the rest of the bag, and I'm presuming that's what happened, as my husband has only had one, seeing as there were only FIVE in the first place!  {WINK WINK}   This gift is from the delightful Trudi (www.madebyme79.blogspot.com) - my downline, and inspirer!   Trudi's style is just beautiful, and this box is no exception - gorgeous colours, and made to perfection.  Thanks so much Trudi - It was such a lovely gift.  The reason why I got this gift is "Pay It Forward" - if you haven't see the movie then rent it,  because it's very good!  The idea is that three people will be chosen from everyone who leaves a message on this  blog posting (NZ residents only sorry!), and they will get a gift from me - just like I did from Trudi!   Instead of paying it back to the person who's given to you, we Pay It Forward - you must have a blog so you to can give to someone who leaves a message on your blog.  I'll give you all 'til Friday 29th February to leave your messages, and then I'll number you all, and randomly select a winner!    Good luck, and good night!

Tagged by Lastel!

Hey there - I've been tagged - think i just need to answer these questions!   Thanks Lastel.   Check out Lastel's blog here http://stampinstelsuniquecreations.blogspot.com/

1. Stamping Style:  A little bit modern - love the bright colours, rather than subtles&#
2. Inspiration: Other blogs, especially my SBS10 Sistahs!
3. Color:  I'm a chocolate chip girl.
4. Work Space: Mainly in my small office - which is in a constant state of "before" for a "before & after" photo!
5. Perfect day: Sleep 'til 8am, brought in breakfast in bed by gorgeous Maori man, with wonderful smile, who makes GREAT scrambled eggs & coffee (Oh, gee, that would be my DH!).  Watch breakfast news and not have to make anyone else's breakfast or lunches for school.  Kiss adorable children off to school without having to growl at any of them, and not have to rush back to school to drop off the book/homework/togs that have been forgotten.  Check emails & a few blogs before heading off to a great game of squash (which naturally I would win!), then off to lunch, looking like someone who has NOT just played a game of squash and rushed through a shower/hairdry in order to get to lunch on time!  Lunch would be with girlfriends that I met with on Friday (my horrible horrible day) who cheer me up, have me laughing, and forgetting that I'm apparently the worst mother in the world!  Afternoon would be... hmmm.... shopping for clothes that fit me perfectly, having my afternoon coffee in the sun at home, then collecting darling children from school, who all do their homework, and help me  their father cook a delicious dinner.  I would then stay at home with DH for a wonderful chick flick, glass of wine, and of course chocolate, before heading to bed this side of midnight, with the same handsome Maori guy!
6. First Job: In Highschool, I worked at the local supermarket during school holidays & a couple of days after school.
7. Wildest dream:   See answer # 5!
8. Ink:  Is this colour??   Only use SU inks, so have to be Chocolate Chip, or Rose Red
9. Family: My gorgeous Maori guy from Question 5, and three boys, Blake, Mason & Riley
10. Beverage: I love a half strength caramel latte, and Lindaeur Fraise (not together
11. Biggest Challenge: Trying to fit everything into every day that I want/need to do.

Thanks Lastel - this has actually been a lot of fun!   I Tag Trudi, Tracey & Megan!  Look forward to seeing your responses.

RETIRING STAMP SETS

Hello to you all - I know - I haven't been blogging, and with good reason!   I've just had the most unbelievable week, cramming in something every night, plus mornings & now the weekend as well, so I'm pretty shattered, and am finally now having a slight breather before attempting to make 25 cards for our New Plymouth Training Event next Saturday, where we will swap with other people.  If you are interested in finding out more about Stampin' Up, or demonstrating, then give me a call, and I can see if we can fit you in as well.  It's going to be fantastic!

Blake's Tramp 017Just letting you all know that the retiring stamp set & accessory list has been released, and rather than bore you with a long list of items that are disappearing for good from our NZ catalogue, just please either phone me of email me (said@xtra.co.nz) and I can email you the list, or just tell you if your favourites are going!   There are 133 sets going, and some sets have already sold out.  If you are after either "It's Snow Time" or "Square Pegs (wheel)", then please phone quickly, as these are very limited now, and will possibly sell out soon.   I will be blogging tomorrow, with something more exciting than typing, so be sure to check it out again then.  In the  meantime, I'll leave you with a photo of my son on a huge, very high swing bridge that we crossed over on his 3 hour class tramp on Thursday.  It was great, tiring, but great.  The kids coped better than the adults!   Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Paper Piecing - Great to use up your scraps!

Good morning!

Tonight we have our downline (my upline's) meeting, and I'm doing a sample card for the Paper Piecing punch.  This is a punch I don't use very much at all, but just LOVED when I saw a card made with it many moons ago.   So, today I dusted it off, and made this card.   I'Paper Piecing 001m actually really pleased with how it turned out.  I also used my Watercolour Mini's Stamp Set, which I haven't used very often either, so I thought I was doing really well!  In fact, I like this card so much, that I'm doing it at $2 cards this Wednesday.  If you'd like to come along and make some with us, send me an email to let me know.  Hope the other ladies will like it as much as I do - always a bit nervous about making a card to give to other demos, as you feel other's styles and cards are always so much better than your own, but hey, at least I've done it!

Recipe : Water Colour Minis, It's Your Birthday.  Inks : Black Stazon, Rose Red, Regal Rose, Green Galore, Garden Green, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie .  Cardstock : Green Galore, Rose Red, So Saffron, Garden Green, Basic Black, Whisper White, Vellum.

I've also made my Suprise Pop Up Card for my own downline swap tomorrow night.  I MIGHT post that one after tomorrow - I'll see how the response is from my ladies!  I'm not as pleased with that one - just used the wrong colours, and have now left it too late to change them all, so sorry in advance ladies - hope it will not be too embarrassing, esp as I've just peeped at Trudi's blog (www.madebyme79.blogspot.com) and seen what she has made, and they are FABULOUS!!   Wow, I'm dying to get my swap from her, and from the others.  Looking forward to it!  You all have a great day.  I'm back to get finished prepping for my $2 cards (I'm so impressed, as I've already done two of the five cards, and it's ONLY MONDAY)  Not at all like me, as usually it's Wednesday morning about 2am that I finish doing the cards.  Enjoy your Monday!

Just for Fun!

Hello!  Today I made a card just for fun - no reason at all, which was just lovely!  It's inspired by a card that I looked at Tall Handbag this morning by  http://stampinat6213.blogspot.com/.    A very talented lady & fantastic blog.  This card is made with the round tab punch for the base of the handbag, and the 1 1/4" square punch for the flap.  I used gold brads for the clasps, and some gold cord for the strap.  I'm quite pleased with this card, so I'm going to be making them for $2 cards which is on this Wednesday from 6-10pm.  Drop in anytime, make as many or few of the five different cards I pre-cut, and have a laugh with other women (men are more than welcome too!!).  It would be helpful if you could  let me know if you are intending to drop in, so I can make sure we have enough chocolate!  Love to see you then.

Have a great Saturday!   Michelle

Recipe : Stamp Set-Lots of Thoughts (Sale-A-Bration).  Ink: Chocolate Chip.  Cardstock: Cameo Coral, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White.  Au Chocolat Designer Paper.  Accessories : Round Tab Punch, 1 1/4" square punch, 1 3/8" square punch, gold brads, gold cord.

Stamp Club for February

Hello everyone!  Thought I'd like to show you a couple of the things we made today with our Stamp Club

Sour Cream Valentines Container

This looks nothing like MY sour cream containers, but apparently they used to be served like this somewhere - not sure where!  A very easy & cute little project, filled with chocolate of course!     Stamp Club 015

1. Start with a piece of cardstock measuring 12cm X12cm.  Decorate with stamps - I used Loads of Love on So Saffron Cardstock.
2.  Add sticky tape to one side (doesn't matter which side -- it's square so pick any side) -- and roll it up and stick it together.  It will look like a toilet paper roll.
3.  Seal one end of your roll with sticky tape.  Add your goodies into the container.  This is important.   Unless you plan on giving someone you love (or hate) a container full of nothing, this step is crucial.
4.   Close up the other end of your container, but seal it crosswise from the way you sealed the other end.  This is how you get the "twisted"  look of the sour cream containers you get in restaurants.
5.  Then just make a little matching tag and you have a cute gift!   IMPORTANT STEP : EAT THE REMAINDER OF THE CHOCOLATES YOU'VE GOT LEFT FROM FILLILNG ONE OF THESE LITTLE GIFTS.   THIS WILL REMIND YOU HOW MUCH FUN STAMPING CAN BE!!

Criss Cross Card - Friendship Blooms (Sale-A-Bration FREE Set)

This card was inspired completely by Carolina - a very talented woman! http://creativepad.typepad.com/ Stamp Club Feb 08 (2)

This was Ruby Red, Mellow Moss & Very Vanilla, and just Friendship Blooms Sale-A-Bration Set, which you can STILL get for free if you make an order of $120.00 or more, only until the end of February.  Hurry!

Remember - if you would like to join us and make some of these projects at our Stamp club next month, there is space available on the second Monday night of the month only, at 7.30pm.  Commitment of $35 purchase per month.

ALSO - My Easter Class is now full, so if you're looking at other classes for the next couple of weeks, please let me know early, so you don't miss out.   It's 10pm, and I was going to get an early night, so goodnight - I'm done!

How to use the Heat & Stick Powder

Stamp, colour & cut out

Good  morning!   I've been asked a few times now if I could give instructions for how to make the dazzling diamonds fish/butterfly that I have posted recently, and made in recent workshops, so here's the instructions :

Step 1:  Stamp your image onto cardstock, colour it as you wish, and cut it out.

Heat & Stick Tutorial 007Step 2 : Gently push your coloured, cut out image into your versamark pad with the coloured side facing down.

Heat & Stick Tutorial 008Step 3 : Using a powder pal (or scrap paper) cover your now slightly sticky image with Heath & Stick powder, tipping off the excess into the powder pal.  Use a heat gun (on special still for $53.95) and heat until the powder turns slightly shiny.

Step 4 : Using a separate powder pal (or scrap piece of paper) cover your now very sticky image with Dazzling Diamonds, tip off excess into the powder pal, and you're all done!  Attach to a card using a Heat & Stick Tutorial 019Stampin' Dimensional.    Hope that explains it for you - love to see what you make with your dazzling diamonds!  I have only TWO PLACES still open for my Dazzling Diamonds class on Monday 3rd March, so if you would like to come and play some more, phone or email me.  Enjoy your day!

Quote For The MONTH!

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those that matter don't mind.                     ~Dr Suess~

Yep, started out as a 'quote for today', then we went to 'quote for the week', and now we're at 'quote for the month'!   I think I'll just post a good quote when I find them - that way you won't know when I'm late with it!   I'm having lots of fun finding ideas & playing for my Easter Class.  Yes, it's not 'til next month, and yes, this is super early for me to start planning, but I'm having a wonderfully busy month, so thought I'd get a head start!

Goodnight.   Michelle

Card for Tricia & Nate

wild about you 001Hey there everyone!   Just finished the calendar class, which was fantastic.  Thought I'd upload the card I made for Nate & Tricia (see blog address at the bottom of my blog if you want to read their story - it's really amazing!) that Trudi is going to send over to them.   Thanks Trudi for doing this - appreciate it!  Hope you're feeling better too!  Also though I would upload the coaster calendar we made this afternoon so you can see what we've been up to.  I have an offer for any of you who are interested in coming to Stamp Club but are still undecided.  I have space only on the Monday night 7.30pm, and if you would like to come along THIS MONDAY NIGHT to see if you would like to commit, then that's cool!   There's no cost for the class (we'll be making 3 items, including a coaster calendar, different to this one, and a valentines project), but you need to commit to purchase $35.00 worth of Stampin Up Products from the catalogue.  If you decide to continue with the Stamp Club, then that will be your first month's commitment, and there will be 9 more months of FUN FUN FUN, and some great projects that we will be making.  Remember, YOU DON'T PAY FOR THE CLASSES EACH MONTH, JUST COMMIT TO PURCHASE $35 WORTH OF PRODUCT EACH MONTH - and you will get a copy of the new catalogue on 1st April, plus a hostess set of your choice, and $35 worth of product once during the term of Stamp Club!!  That's a great deal!  So if you would like to come on Monday night to have a look-see, then give me a call.   No obligation if you decide it's not for you - you'll just come away with 3 cool projects from Monday anyway!  Enough waffling - here's the other coaster calendar :     The stamp set is (once again) Wild About You, Jumbo Spot On Wheel.  Cardstock : Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Au Chocolat Designer Paper.  Inks : Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink.  Accessories : Tab punch, oval punch, narrow grosgrain ribbon.

COLOUR COMBO LINK IS NOW WORKING!

Good morning everyone! It's raining. Great. Doesn't make you feel like you're missing out on being at the beach when it's raining, and you're stamping! Sad, I know. Just letting you know that the link to the colour combo website is now corrected, so go check it out. It's great when you have one colour you need/want to use, and are just not sure what to put with it.
Have fun! Michelle

Wild Rose Calendar

Wild Rose Calendar 004

Yes, I said I would post again today, and I have!   Well, ok, it's not still today, but tomorrow I guess, if you want to be picky, but it's still my working day!  Have finished the calendars for tomorrow, and I'm really pleased.  You will be surprised to see that I have used Wild Rose as my only stamp set on this calendar.  I don't usually go for this set - just not 'me', but tonight, I was brave, and I do like how it turned out.  Very feminine.

Cardstock is Regal Rose, Rose Red, Certainly Celery & Very Vanilla.  Inks are Regal Rose, Rose Red, Mellow Moss & Old Olive.  Accessories: My very own template for the calendar, made from scratch - I KNOW!!!  Also hodge podge hardware, and the wonderful new wide grosgrain ribbon.  Love this!     See some of you tomorrow.  Goodnight.

THE DUCKS ARE BACK!

76_lg Good afternoon everyone!   I'm so pleased - we've had ducks & ducklings here since we moved in.  They all just arrive on our lawn before we wake up, and wake to be fed, then wander on to their next stop for the day, up the road.  A month ago, they all disappeared, and I must admit, I've missed them.  Not their poop, or their quacking at 5.30am outside my bedroom ranchslider, but I've missed them all the same.  This morning there were 9, all waddling as fast as their little legs would take them right up our driveway.  They ate everything in site, their little feet making this funny sound, slapping against the smooth driveway in the funniest way as they race to get the bread that's thrown out.  Such a nice way to start a Saturday.  Thought I must share a photo with you of our last batch of ducklings - started out with 11 ducklings, but then there were none - courtesy of the neighbour's cat (whom we got into trouble with this morning, as our dog decided to chase the cat, much to the neighbour's disgust!)

Will be posting again later today with some cards, but until then, take care!

OK, so these aren't REALLY our ducks - but the pic is funny huh?   THESE are our ducks...  they are sooo sweet!   I'm sure they tasted good too.  LOL

Coaster Calendar Class - SUNDAY

Good evening everyone!   I've had a few questions about the type of calendar we are making on Sunday's Calendar Class, so I promised to upload a picture of one.  Now, this is not THE calendar we will be making - just the TYPE of calendar we will be making - or one of them anyway.  I don't want to spoil the surprise for those coming along.  Hope this inspires you all to come - I still have places available, so give me a call by tomorrow evening if you would like to come and make this!  It's so much fun. This coaster calendar was given to me by my upline (aka sister!) at the start of this year.  I just love it!

Coaster Calendar 002 Coaster Calendar 001

We've been out to the model aeroplanes tonight (the boys & I).  It was cool!  What a beautiful night, sitting with our fish n chips in the sun watching the stunts of radio-control cars & aeroplanes.  If you are local, go and check it out one night up at Pukekura Park - the kids just LOVE IT!

Well, still lots to do tonight, so I'll talk to you all tomorrow.  Oh, if you register via email for a class, and don't hear back from me, that will mean that I haven't received your registration - I've lost a couple of emails in the last week, so please email again, or phone me to make sure I've received your message!  THANKS

Goodnight!

CRAYON RESIST

Well Hello again!  So soon, I hear you saying.  Yes, that's because my DH is not feeling at all well (due to eating the salmon steak I left him for dinner last night that he ate at afternoon tea time today) and my eldest was not hungry, due to an exciting day out with his Nan, and Middle Son is asleep in the car, after I've exhausted him with a day at the beach, and Youngest son is happily playing with the lego.  So - dinner for me is a cobb of beautiful corn, which is all devoured & cleaned up, and onto stamping!

I was speaking to Kim today, and she asked me about the spectrum pads - the multicoloured ink pads.  Now I've bought two of these, and only used one of them once.  I don't know why - I love the look of them, but I've got stuck in a rut with inks, and tonight I broke out!

Friendship Blooms 001

Stamp Set : Friendship Blooms - Sale-A-Bration Set!

Ink Pad : Pumpkin Patch Spectrum Pad

Cardstock : Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Glossy White, Old Olive, Ruby Red

The technique used here is crayon resist - where I have stamped onto the glossy white cardstock with black staz-on ink (which really does STAY ON - good for slippery surfaces such as glass, glossy cardstock, acetate etc), then I went over a few parts of the stamped image with a light coloured crayon.  Then I used the brayer with the spectrum pad and rolled on the colour.  When the ink is dried, I used a tissue to rub off the crayon, which creates the white outlines around the flowers.  I know - don't tell me - I missed one flower.  Easy to do when you are using a white crayon, as you can't really see where you've been!

Anyway - I'm really happy with the card - quick, easy & lots of fun to make!  That's Me!

Don't forget - I have two technique classes coming up on Saturday 29th, or Sunday 30th March where we will be learning 10 techniques, such as this, and making full cards for each technique.  If you've missed my class details or wish to register for the technique class, please feel free to email me said@xtra.co.nz, and check out what else is going on!

Michelle

I KNOW, I KNOW - IT'S WEDNESDAY, AND I HAVEN'T POSTED SINCE SUNDAY!!

SORRY to all you faithful blog checkers out there - what can I say - It's been a busy week! I've just had a fantastic day, cruising the Stampin' Up! Website, and LEARNING lots from a fabulous new demonstrator (who by the way was reading her 69 page demonstrator manual when I arrived - I kid you not!! Top marks to you!!) and then went to Mimi, and spent the afternoon in a bikini. Awesome! It was lovely and hot - the kids were fantastic, and the company so enjoyable! Couldn't have asked for a better day - other than coming home now and not having to cook dinner. Hmm.
So - before I go to sleep, I WILL BE POSTING SOMETHING! Check back later. Hope you've all enjoyed your Waitangi Day as well. Riley (5yrs) said "The reason for this holiday is because the whitey's and the Maori were fighting, and then they signed a piece of paper to say they would stop fighting, and we call it Waitangi Day"
That's pretty concise, for a 5 year old huh??
I'll go get the dinner, and then get posting!
Enjoy your evening.

I'VE BEEN TAGGED!

The Middle Name Game!

I've Been Tagged!   Thanks Trudi - need a bit of a laugh!  fortunately, my middle name is short...

These are the rules:- You must post the rules before you give your answers. You must list one fact about yourself for each letter of your middle name.  Each fact must begin with that letter. If you don't have a middle name, just use your maiden name. After you've been tagged, you need to up-date your blog with your middle name and answers. At the end of your post, you need to tag one person for each letter of your middle name. (Be sure to leave them a comment telling them they've been tagged and need to read your blog for details.)

J jEEPERS!! iT'S HARD THINKING OF A 'J' FACT!

JOY - I've always been kinda secretly pleased that my Mum (nope, my Dad wouldn't have had a say in it, I'm sure!) gave me the middle name of joy - hopefully that's what I've been to them...  will wait for the verdict on that one I think. LOL

O OFFICE - In my 'previous life' (i.e before children) I worked in an office, as a Travel Agent.  Very cool job when you don't have children, but loses it's attraction when you have to leave children & husband at home to go travelling the world!  Wouldn't trade places to pre-children for anything!

YOUNG!!!  OK, so who CAN think of a Y word that isn't yellow or young??  I know I'm not that young, but hey, it's all in your head anyway, isn't it?     I've GOT IT!!  YIPPEE!!

Tomorrow is Monday, and that means my boys will all be at school by 8.30am!  YIPPEE!   Today is Sunday, that means I've just watched the season premiere of Grey's Anatomy (the best programme ever!) YIPPEE.  I've got a lot to be thankful for, including the fact that my DH was not injured in a car crash on his way to work today!

There - that's me done!  If I think of some better ones, I'll edit it, but at least I've posted huh?    AND, I only have to tag three people, so here goes : I TAG SARA, LATISHA & CHRIS!   Make us proud, SBS10 Sistahs!

CLASSES FOR FEBRUARY & MARCH

Good morning everyone - YES, I did get my classes all done yesterday, and you should have received them via email if you are on my email list. If you haven't received them, or would like to, then please email me on said@xtra.co.nz or phone me 06 753 3736.
It's Blake's 10th birthday today, so I'm in full on cake mode right now - just hangin out 'til lunchtime when I can eat some chocolate log filled with boysenberries, fresh cream & jam!!! Yummm, wonder if anyone would notice if I just cut a little slice off the end?? Hmmm. Here's the card I made for Blake - it was kind of different than I first started out imagining it would be, but I actually am quite pleased with it - and Blake is as well, which is all that matters!

Have a fabulous day!
