Spring Solitude with Satin

Here is the promised card, made using the ribbon from the ribbon share, Purely Pomegranate Satin Ribbon.  This really is the loveliest ribbon!

Spring Solitude 1 001

RECIPE : Spring Solitude Hostess Set, Basic Gray & Purely Pomegranate Ink.  Basic Gray, Very Vanilla Cardstock.  Pomegranate Satin Ribbon.

Super super quick card - made in between visitors today.  A great day that I stayed home, and was able to do a little stamping, a LOT of washing (none of which is anywhere near dry yet!) and a whole heap of other things.

Enjoy your day!

ANOTHER RIBBON SHARE

After the huge success of my last ribbon swap, I've decided to do another one.  This time with the Taffeta Ribbon and the BRAND NEW SATIN RIBBON (2.5cm wide), which I have just opened my first rolls of, and it's GORGEOUS!!   This is how it's going to work...   If you live out of town, and wish to take part, that's not a problem, there will just be a charge of $1.00 per participant if you would like your ribbon posted out to you -  local participants, you will need to collect your ribbon, or pay $1 if you would like it posted to you as well.  I will let you know when the  group is full, and when your ribbon is here.  In the meantime, I'd better get on with using some of this beautiful ribbon to make a card.  I'll be back to post it later.  Phone or email me (or you can just leave a message on this post) to book your space.   Check out page 146 of your catalogue (or go online and check it out HERE - see my bookmarked page 146 and click on the tab) to see the taffeta ribbon & colours.

FREE STUFF FROM FISKARS

Sharon has kindly sent me the information on a great Fiskars giveway.  Visit HERE  and leave a comment about where you are from, and leave my name as the person who referred you, and who knows, we might both win a prize.   Speaking of prizes, I've simply got to share the story from last week that my darling son got me into...  I was in the shower, when Mason raced and banged on the door, yelling "You've got to get out of the shower Mum, you're going to be on the radio!".   "NO MASON!".   "Yes Mum - they are waiting for you on the phone" (pushes phone through the door).

"Hello...,."    "Hello.  Is this Mummy?"   "Yes".   "Were you in the shower?"   "Yes".  "Are you dressed now"   "No."    "OK, we'll make it fast then. We are going to play a little game called Whose Line is it Anyway. Do you know how to play?"   "No".....  "OK, we're going to play a little snippet from an ABBA song, and you are going to finish off the line.  OK?"  "No... - please tell me I don't have to sing it!".   "No"   "OK, that's not so bad then".   At this stage, I figured, well, I know quite a few ABBA songs, so I've got a reasonable chance to win whatever it is that I'm going in the draw for.  The ABBA song was played, and I had NO IDEA what the rest of the words were.  So, the lovely man & lady at the anonymous radio station played the line for me, told me to listen carefully, and then they would re-record me saying the correct answer!!  Unbelievable!   They said that they had only put one other person in the draw, and they needed a winner!   LOL.   So, I was re-recorded giving the correct answer, and sounding very clever, and won a Nivea Gift Pack, and went in the draw to win a cruise around the Mediterranean.  Nice.  Needless to say, I didn't win, and gave the big talk to my son NOT to phone up for me any more, especially when I'm in the shower!  HOW EMBARRASSING.

Enjoy your evening.

Thanks Sharon!!

Scrappin' Sunday

HOT OFF THE PRESS (i.e this page was done today!) - Another really simple page, and going back to 12x12.  LOVE this photo.    I know it looks crooked, but I'm sure it isn't - just that the cardstock was sitting on the couch, and was a bit bendy!

See ya!

Michelle

Here it is!

Yes, Helen, I DID have this project finished last night (although I must admit to many "surprise projects" that is aka "I haven't even thought about it yet".  LOL)  Tonight one of our projects is a Box in a Bag.  Very easy, and sweet - mine are going to be filled with Chocolate & Russian Fudge.  Yum.  There were lots of pieces for each box, but now there are just a few.  I had to think of the ladies who don't like to eat too much sweet stuff, so I was being kind by removing temptation from them.   Sorry Ladies!!  Yum Yum!

Recipe : Stamp Sets: Polka Dots & Petals, Totally Tabs.  Cardstock/Inks: Certainly Celery, Almost Amythest, Purely Pomegranate, Bashful Blue.  Accessories: 3/4" Punch, Spring Bouquet Flower Punch, Eyelets, Cropodile, Round Tab Punch, Slit Punch, Retired Ribbon.

Thanks to  Paula Goff for the instructions on how to make these, and to lots of other ladies who have given fantastic ideas on their blogs.

Have a great night.

SNOW DAY!!!

I haven't forgotten about you all - I've just been a little busy.  We had fun (well, some of the time it was fun - NOT when we discovered our lights had been left on and we had a flat battery when we went to go home!) up the Mountain today, so I'm just posting you a couple of pics of the boys playing in the snow this afternoon.  I'll have a little project to post after my Inglewood High School class tomorrow, but don't want to spoil the fun for the girls who come along.

Drama Queen!!    And the appropriately remorseful guilty party!

What a day.   I should be asleep, but am trying to get on top of my TO DO list!

Ha!   Have a great day

Scrappin' Sunday...

OK, so a busy weekend away has meant no NEW scrappin, but I can post pictures from my album, right??   Here's something that is totally NON Stampin' Up, but is a favourite of mine from way back.

Scrappin Sunday 006

I promise to be back next week with some NEW scrappin!!   Hope you all managed to stay warm over the weekend - it was registering 2.1 degrees in Inglewood tonight when I was coming home.   Brrrrrrrr!   NOT nice.  The roads had been closed yesterday, but had been graded and re-opened before we came through.  There was piles of ice on the side of the road, and the paddocks were just white!   Soooo cool - actually, soooo freezing, but cool.

Have a great week.

IT IS HAILING!!!

OK, as I look out my office window, I am watching the hail with amazement - it looks like snow.  I KNEW it was cold - believe me, I stood on the side of a soccer TWO soccer fields this morning, absolutely freezing my very well covered up butt off, and now I see hail, that really looks like snow.  Unbelieveable.  I'm heading off to Wanganui for the night with Helen, which I'm really really looking forward to, and am hoping that this weather will settle down in the next hour before we have to go.  Not likely!   Just wanted to let you know, if you want to read a hysterical account of an encounter with a rodent, then visit Chris, who is one of my SBS10 Sistah's, and read  "my mouse story", on July 2nd.   She is just sooo funny.    Thanks Chris - such a great story, and sooo brave of you to share it! LOL.   Anyway, just a quick post today to show you one of the things we made at Inglewood High School this week.

Inglewood High 002

RECIPE : Stampsets: All Year Cheer 1 (retired), En Francais BG, Scribble This.  Cardstock/Ink: Pink Passion, Basic Gray, Whisper White.  Accessories: Mat Pack, Large Oval Punch, Designer Label Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, 2 Way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds.

OK, so now it's THUNDERING as well.  Yuck.  What am I doing going out in this??  I'm actually heading down to the Bridal Expo in  Wanganui that is on tomorrow.  I'm helping on the stand for The Jewel Company, so if you are inWanganui, then make sure you stop by and say Hi.

Have a great afternoon - it's GREAT weather to be stampin!

I just HAD to take photos, when I saw my intelligent (HONESTLY, THEY ARE!!) children outside in bare feet running and biking (or sliding) on the hail.  Notice how the dog can't quite get her feet to walk properly on the ice, and how Riley on the bike won't put his feet on the ground!

What a day!

How very cool - Trudi has given me this blog award.  Thanks so much!!  Very awesome.  I think I have to nominate some people, but I'm just so darn tired, that I'm going to bed, and will nominate tomorrow, and post the things we made at Inglewood Highschool as well!

Goodnight.

Edited to add:   Now I nominate the following amazing women to thank them for the work they do with their blogs that inspires me...

Tracey AND Joan - thanks Ladies - you have fabulous blogs, and I'm always amazed at what you do.

July Stamp Club

Good afternoon!  Hope you have all managed to stay dry today - it's thundering here at the moment.  FANTASTIC to be inside by the fire.  As promised, here is the project we made this morning at Stamp Club.  I was sooo impressed by all of the ladies today - everyone had such great ideas for their Explosion Books (aka Scrapbook in a Box), and every one of the boxes looked amazing!   Glad you all had fun with it.  Great job!

Christmas Cards

Good morning everyone!   I know - I haven't blogged for a few days, so sorry, I've been really busy running around making all sorts of things for my Christmas Class, and for Stamp Club, so you will see some things very soon.  In the meantime, here are two of the cards we made at the Christmas Class we had on the weekend.  We had lots of fun, and had even had a guest entertainer come along - Cliff Richard!  I'm sure we all stamped much better with Cliff serenading us as we worked!

Christmas Class June 08 019

This is one of my favourite Christmas sets.  Just gorgeous!

RECIPE : Stamp sets: Solemn Stillness, En Francais, Occasional Greetings.  Cardstock/Ink: Bravo Burgandy, Mellow Moss, Very Vanilla, Vesamark.  Accessories: Photo Corner Punch, Gold Brads, Gold EP

Christmas Class June 08 017 And here is another one - Snow Flurries and Dazzling Diamonds!  Can't go wrong with that combination.

RECIPE : Stamp sets: Baroque Motifs, Snow Flurries, Many Merry Messages.  Cardstock/Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White.  Accessories: 3/4" circle Punch, White Craft Ink, Dazzling Diamonds, Clear Packing Tape.

AND, for all of you who came along on Saturday, and don't remember making THIS card - don't worry, you are not losing your mind.  You didn't.  This card we made on Sunday, after having a little problem with the red cardstock that we used for the other card on Saturday!

The snow flurries are all sparkling - very pretty.  Even though we don't have a cold Christmas (usually!!), there is something very Christmassy about snowflakes.

I'll be posting again tomorrow with our cool stamp club project (sorry ladies - no sneak peeks for you this month).

If you would like to come along to stamp club one month to see if it is for you, then give me a call or email.  You are welcome to come to the Monday night Stamp Club, which is on the 2nd Monday of the month (except this month, when we've made it the first Tuesday!!) at 7.30pm.   You can come as a guest once, and just pay $10 to make all the projects, and if you want to join, then you commit to 10 months, purchasing $35.00 worth of product from the catalogue per month, and then you get to have a turn at being hostess, and getting a free level 1 hostess set, plus $35.00 Hostess Dollars to spend.  WOW!!

Enjoy your day, and I'll catch you again tomorrow.
