AMAZING - time to create today!

P1310040That's right - I have amazed myself by being able to do some creating today, when I thought my chances would be very slim to be doing any stamping, as today it's Blake's party.  Here's a photo of us (after being down at the pools for a few hours - I don't know WHAT my DH is doing...and YES, I've got a haircut booked for Tuesday!) , but most of the boys have gone home now, and there are just two left, and the kids are having fun playing on the Playstation.  YAY!  So I quickly checked out a few blogs, and found Denise's Blog, and she had altered a tin that I had just put into my office to do something with "someday" - so today was THE day!  It was a Heaven Hot Chocolate Tin (that was just divine), so I've added some Spring Silhouette DSP and some Wide Rose Red Ribbon, and used A Happy Heart Stamp Set to make it look pretty.  Now I'm on a roll - I have to stay up to make P1310042sure these boys DO go to bed at some stage, so I might as well be stamping huh?!

SPEED FREAKS!

P1300003

P1300004 P1300005

This is another page I completed at the beach. We were at Rainbow's End in Auckland, and there was a LOT of laughing & joking going on, along with a bit of a competitive streak running through our family (no, I wasn't even driving!). There was this kid in the car behind Chase (top photo) who had a look on his face as he was about to smash into Chase, who was enjoying his lovely Sunday drive. I think a little road rage went on soon after this photo was taken!

RECIPE : Chipboard Letters (again traced onto the coloured cardstock I used). Stampsets : Tidy Alphabet (retired), Boho Backgrounds. Cardstock/Ink : Tempting Turqoise, Real Red, Green Galore, Basic Black Textured.

I'm really LOVING doing this scrapbooking - I'll have to do some more real soon - in fact, next week the boys start back at school, so hopefully I'll find a little time then!

You have a few more hours to enter into the U Stamp FREE draw on my post on 25th January - I'll draw the winner tonight.

Good luck!

2 Cute!

Hellloooo! Another glorious day here. We're back from the bach - a whirlwind trip I'm afraid, but the weather was just perfect, so a bit of time for reading, swimming & scrappin! That's right - unbelievably I actually completed 3 pages while at the bach. I amazed myself! It was mainly due to DH coming home from work and offering to take the boys to the skate park, then pick up take-aways for dinner. LOVE IT! These pages all fell together really easily, and I'm just delighted with the results. Something so fulfilling about finishing a page, and seeing those you love on them smiling back at you. All I took with me to do this was some neutral 12x12 c/stock & my designer paper packs, plus my newly organised file of scraps, and all the spots for ink. Pretty good huh?! There was drama getting this photo - as our black couch where I usually take my photos is covered with all the stuff from the kitchen/dining/computer room while our floors were being done, I decided to take this picture on the bench-top. As I climbed onto the bench to take the photo, I bumped the hanging light, smashing the lightbulb onto the benchtop, and all over our brand new flooring. Oops!! That was a mess.

P1290004

This page uses : Jersey Shore DSP (LOVING THIS ONE TOO!), Pumpkin Pie, Brilliant Blue & Basic Black. The alphabet is the (retired) Headline Alphabet. I used the On Board Simon Lower Chipboard number "2", and traced it onto some brilliant blue cardstock. I decided It was fine as it was, so kept the actual chipboard for another day, and used the cardstock. How cool. I've got to admit that I've had these chipboard letters & numbers for about a year, and never opened them. Now I have, I'm on a roll - they are COOL! Just $24.95 for more than 50 letters, numbers & accents, and you can do as I have - use them to create lots & lots of other letters & numbers from the cut-outs left after you've used the actual pieces.

Have a wonderful night, and check back tomorrow to see another page I've done.

Another cute little bag!

Good morning everyone! What a beautiful day it's going to be here in the 'Naki. We're off the our bach to escape the men who are putting down our flooring today. YAY!! Can't wait for it all to be done. I'll have an awful lot of cleaning up to do when I get back - there's dust EVERYWHERE. Never mind - it'll be worth it I'm sure! Here's a cute little bag I made that is the same design as the one on the front of the Sale-A-Bration catalogue. It's so sweet, and again - really easy to make. Leave me a comment if you'd like the instructions, and I'll email the link to you.

P1270003

Guess what paper I've used?? Just for a change - BALI BREEZE! LOL. So Saffron & Chocolate Chip go beautifully with it, and the Rub On is from the Cherished Memories pack. I've used the SAB Polka Dots & Punches flower, stamped in Rose Red, and the 5 Petal Flower Punch. along with a brad from the Hodge Podge kit.

Hope you all get to enjoy the weather. Have a great day!

Michelle

Don't forget - tomorrow is the last day to join in the $1000 workshop event, and earn yourself a SAB free stamp set, plus either a hostess set, or a $30 Stampin' Up! gift voucher just for placing an order of $100 or more. Orders will go in tomorrow.

Sometimes, it's just a STRUGGLE!

This was one of THOSE cards.  The ones that you fight with the whole way.  Should have taken about an hour at the most to come up with a card, when I had already decided the colours & stamp set to use, but NO.   This card has taken the best part of 2 1/2 hours.  I must say, I'm pleased with the end result, but man oh man, I'm exhausted now!  This is one of the cards we made yesterday at my card class.

P1250012

RECIPE : Stamp Sets: Live your Dream, So Swirly Wheel, Short & Sweet.  Cardstock/ Ink: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Rose Red, Close to Cocoa.  Accessories: 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" square punches, taffeta ribbon, markers, clear EP.

A HUGE thank you to all of you who have voiced your congratulations on my appointment as the UStamp NZ Representative.  It's so very cool to have your support & encouragement.  Thanks, you're just amazing!  Have a wonderful day!

I'm addicted to Bali Breeze!

I LOVE this DSP from the Summer Mini. It's so bright & cheerful, that it just puts you into a great mood using it! This is a gift box for an amazing woman that I'm fortunate enough to have in my team - Angela! Angela is one of the most patient, kind people you will ever know. She's also incredibly creative, and runs amazing workshops & classes. Check out Angela's blog, and if you're in the Waiuku area, make sure you phone her for a workshop!

P1250013

I didn't want to post this to early, 'cos Angela won't get it 'til tomorrow, but hopefully she'll be way to busy on the last week of the holidays to check out what I'm up to! Of course, this box is filled with chocolates. Even I'm amazed that I still have some left in the secret hiding place. Perhaps only because it's such a secret hiding place that even I forgot they were there. Not any more...

RECIPE : Stamp Set : Polka Dot Punches (Sale-A-Bration free set), Bali Breeze DSP, Tempting Turqoise, Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, Narrow Grosgrain ribbon.

If you haven't yet made one of these cute little boxes, then leave me a comment, and I'll forward you the link to the tutorial.

Have a great day!

Kristina Werner Colour Inspiration #39

I really don't know what came over me tonight - instead of doing what I was SUPPOSED to be doing, I suddenly had the urge to complete the KWernerDesign Colour Inspiration - NOW.  So, this is what I came up with.  Cool colours, and certainly not what I'd usually go for, but fun anyway!  Thanks!

P1220002

I decided to go for a long card.  Kind of struggled as to what order to put all the colours in, but in the end, I just threw them all on the page, and they ended up like this!  LOL.   HERE'S where you can find all of the other entries.   Have a wonderful evening.

Michelle

Congratulations to ...

Two of my girls from the M&M's team have done amazing things in the last month - Helen was our top seller for the month, with her best month ever!   While most of us were in cruise mode during December, Helen was stampin' up a storm!   CONGRATS to you Helen - A fabulous achievement, and one you should be very proud of!   Here is the card that I made for Helen - please accept my apologies for the shocking photograph.  I did it last night, and took quite a few pictures, thinking that at least ONE of them would be fine, but NO.  All of them were terrible, so this is the best of the worst.  You get the idea though!

P1200014

Tempting Turquoise, Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie are the colours (hard to tell, I know!), and Bali Breeze DSP.  I used the scallop edge punch to create the medallion in the middle (click HERE to be directed to an easy tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers).  In the middle is "CONGRATS" from Say it with Scallops, and Friendly Flowers is the other set I used to created the background on the Rose Red.

Our second award was to  Cherie, who recruited her first, second and third team members this month!!  How wonderful!!  Cherie - I'm proud of you stepping outside your comfort zone to offer this amazing opportunity to other women.  Good on you, and I hope this money box will be put to good use, saving up for spending money!

P1200022

The money box is covered with Bali Breeze DSP, Cardstock & Ink is Tempting Turquoise, Rose Red & Pumpkin Pie, and the stamp sets are both Sale-A-Bration; Yummy & Polka Dot Punches.   The card uses Define Your Life stamp set, River Rock & Tempting Turquoise cardstock & Bali Breeze DSP.

Well done to my whole team, you are such a wonderful, enjoyable group to be a part of - a fabulous start to the year that I'm sure is going to be amazing!

Have a great night - I'm off to read a book I can't put down!

Envelope Gift Card Holder

OK, so it might be closer to after dinner, than after lunch, but at least I'm posting it today, right?!   Very cute, and easy to make with the fabulous 5-in-1 envelope template. (usually valued at $22.50 - see page 132 of the catalogue)P1200005

This is the outside of the little gift envelope

P1200004

And this is the card that is inserted into one of the pockets inside.  I used the Ginger Blossom designer paper, Ruby Red, Groovy Guava & Very Vanilla cardstock & ink, and Embrace Life & Eastern Blooms stamp sets.  I'm so impressed with this 5-in-1 envelope template that I'm offering a great deal on this bundle.   Purchase any stamp set from the Summer Mini and the 5-in-1 envelope maker and I'll give you 20% off your whole order!!   This offer is ONLY available until Friday 23 January, so be quick and phone or email me with your order.

BTW - dinner tonight was hamburgers.  Albeit homemade ones, but NOT fish.  Don't ask!  Some days you really should just decide first thing to order take-aways!

Enjoy your night - we're off to see the lights at the park tonight, so may have some photos tomorrow!

What's your frog??

OK, so I've been thinking a lot.  What's my "FROG", i.e the worst job I have to do.    I think it's either making phone calls (don't know WHY, but I always put it off, whether it's just to book a hair appointment, or call back someone), or making dinner.  Probably making dinner.  Yesterday however, I decided first thing what I'd be having, and planned my day around getting it sorted out.  We were having snapper (thanks to some voucher we had received from the school gala day), so even though it was looking black, likely to rain very soon, I bundled the boys, bikes & dog into the car and went off to the foreshore, parked the car down by the fish shop, and started our biking/walking/skateboarding excursion that I was tying in with our outing to the fish shop to get dinner sorted.  Well, we arrived at our turn around point, and it started bucketing down.  Two boys were on bikes, so I told them to bike back to the car, and one boy on a skateboard, and me & the dog just ran as fast as my legs could go, and got back to the car pretty wet.  Never mind, we were well on our way to getting the fish.  Stopped outside the fish shop, only to see they are closed on Mondays.  UNBELIEVABLE!!  How could this happen on my first organised dinner day??  So, dinner was rescued by my DH who suggested I bake a slab of the ham we had in the fridge.  It was AMAZING!!   EVERYONE loved dinner, including me.  So, I'm well on the way to being organised.  TODAY we will go back to the fish shop for our snapper.  Now.... how to cook it!

Onto some stamping stuff...  If you haven't seen Makeesha's blog today, then check out her tutorial for an envelope gift card holder, using the 5-in-1 envelope template.  It's super cool, and I'm going to make one of them NOW.  I'll post it for you after lunch.

BTW - what number (from yesterday's post) best describes the most frequent word used in your house?  I've decided that in our house it's number 4 "Go Ahead", (aka "Sure.")  Last used when my DH had been gone from the house for 2 hours, playing squash, and the guy he played text ME to ask if they could stop for "a quick beer"!!!   Couldn't believe it when one hour later he arrives home, and couldn't work out why I was cross.  I had answered "sure", thinking, they'll read between the lines and say "gee, she's not happy, so I'd better go straight home, seeing as I KNOW she's had a horrific day with OUR children".  NO.  They didn't read it that way, and interpreted my "sure" as "absolutely darling, that would be the perfect end to your lovely excursion out".   Makeesha said hers is "whatever" - what's yours??

Enjoy your Tuesday - talk to you later!

Pass this onto the men in your life, so they can better understand you!

EIGHT WORDS ALL MEN SHOULD UNDERSTAND!

(1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

(2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

(3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes.

(4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

(5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)

(6) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

(7) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' . that will bring on a 'whatever').

(8) Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to # 3.

Hopefully the men in our lives will not only read this, but remember it!!

Enjoy your day!

Makeesha's colour challenge #3 - such fun!

makeesha-colour-challenge-311

After seeing the colours on Makeesha's challenge tonight, I simply HAD to play!   Two colours that I love.  Chocolate Chip & Ruby Red.  Add in Blue Bayou & Very Vanilla and you've got a winner right from the start!

P1180001

Of course, I used one of my favourite stamp sets as well - I'm pleased with this one - really, really fun to play with - even if I was racing against the good lighting to photograph it tonight!  Have a go yourself!

Stamp Set : Baroque Motiffs.   Ink/Cardstock : Chocolate Chip, Blue Bayou, Ruby Red, Very Vanilla.  Accessories : Blue Bayou Double Stitched Ribbon, Fire & Ice Brads, Clear EP, Versamark.

Enjoy your night!

Michelle

BTW - Riley IS asleep for the night.  Not so with Mason - he's simply energised & ready to PAR-TAY!

Peaceful siblings!

Good evening!  I hope you have had a great day - we headed out to the bach this afternoon, and enjoyed a little patch of fine weather.  Two little boys fell asleep on the way home, and ended up sleeping for over an hour just like this...

P1180001

How sweet!  They have just woken up, and I've put Riley straight into bed - I think he may be out for the night.   Thought I'd post a card tonight - one that I made ages ago, and still really like.  It uses a stamp set from the Spring Mini (earlier last year) and I'm desperately hoping that it will appear in the new catalogue in April.  I LOVE Stem Silhouettes.   Now this is NOT an original design - I know that I saw it on Splitcoast Stampers, but I'm so sorry, I can no longer find it.  If it's yours - please please let me know so I can credit you with the original!

Have a wonderful night

Eat a FROG for breakfast!

“Eat a live frog every morning, and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day.”

         -Mark Twain

How cool is that?!   Yes, I know, it's not stamping related, and I STILL haven't finished my card organiser, but I'm not feeling at all guilty about it.  SORRY!  I've just had a wonderful evening with my Sister, and others from the SOS team (First Level).  Very cool - laughing, talking & sharing funny stories.  Mostly about kids, of course!   Then I got home, intending to post something, but got a little carried away looking at other people's blogs, and being amazed by how creative people are.  You know, I don't feel creative at all.  I LOVE making things, but don't feel I got the creative gene - I can just copy, change & occasionally come up with something totally new that surprises me.  It doesn't mean I don't enjoy it, but sometimes I WISH I was really clever, creatively speaking!  Anyway, back to the blogs - I checked out Sarah Klass's Blog, and found the post on 2nd January, that really spoke to me.  Funny - it seems like a long time ago, but the middle of last year, I had the same feelings - everything was spinning a little to fast for me to try and keep up with, and I felt overwhelmed at just the idea of getting out of bed, let alone making lunches or breakfast.   Simplify! That's what I had to do - and stop beating myself up for not doing everything I thought I should be doing, and actually stop doing some things that just were not important.   It was great to read of Sarah's feelings, made me feel better in a funny way.  Odd huh!?   Anyway, just wanted to start off the year saying that if any of you feel a little overwhelmed, or anxious about things then check out Sarah's posting - she's listed some other blogs & books that helped her, and I know that I could have done with something like this when I was feeling really stink.  Thanks Sarah - for your honesty and open-ness.  It will help lots of other people, and I wish you the very best to come this year.

Have a great night, and you may see a post from me sometime really soon.  Maybe.

Take care, and if you're still reading, THANKS for sticking with my rambling.

2008 RETIRED STAMP SETS

OK, so in my massive "declutter" Spring Clean, I've NO room left in my office for retired Stamp Sets, so they have to go. All my retired sets (and one punch) are now just $15 each - you are welcome to phone to save a set until you can come and collect & pay for it if you wish.
My loss is your gain! (Stamp sets listed in the right hand sidebar of my blog)

Nearly Done!

So, the weather was a little too nice to keep me inside stamping all day, so I haven't QUITE finished my card organiser, but nearly! Thought I'd better take a photo of the progress so far, before the lighting all goes and I'm stuck for another day. I'll finish it off tonight, and update the photo tomorrow. Don't forget to email/phone me if you are wanting to come next Wednesday night and make one of these card organisers - FREE with a $35 order, or $20 if you are not wanting to place an order.

P1150004

A huge THANKS to Sharlene, my upline & sister, for sending me the template for the month dividers - saved me SO much time - and she's so much quicker than me at these sorts of things!

Have a great night

HELLO!   Happy New Year to you all.  I've had an amazing break, spending a week at our bach in Onaero, just doing as little as possible, including reading four books (much to my DH's dismay), swimming, working on the tan, and of course eating!, and 6 days in Auckland over Christmas with my whole family, and my cousins and their children, which was just awesome.  So much fun.  So much eating!   So now, it's time to try and find my Mojo again - I've sat down at the computer a couple of times, but NOTHING.  No inspiration, and no idea where to start, so today is the day.  I'll make something today.   Promise, in fact I've just started on it!   Check back later to see what I've come up with... that will keep me accountable!   Speaking of MOJO, we've found our Mojo - a new cat for our family!  Unexpected, but lovely.  On the first day she spent at home, we were concerned how our Golden Labrador Kate would be with her... but we needn't have worried, as you can see.
