January Calendar Page. 11 to go...

PC190023

I've got ONE done, ok??!  LOVE this photo of Mason playing cricket out at the beach last year.  We all play lots & lots of cricket out there, and usually someone ends up storming off in a tantrum about being caught out, or unfair bowling - I'll TRY not to do it this year!  I'm still hoping to at least do half of this calendar to take up to my Grandmother for Christmas when we leave early Tuesday morning (aka middle of Monday night).  I thought if I do half of the pages, then I can post her up the next month's page one at a time, giving her a nice surprise each month in the post, and me a little more time to complete it!  I'm just a hopeless procrastinator.  I have decided that I work best under pressure, and I need to accept that, and not moan about it.  I'll be having classes to make these fabulous calendars early next year - start early and get organised for YOUR Christmas gifts next year!

I'm off for a game of squash now - try and run off some of the Christmas goodies that I'll no doubt be consuming over the next week.  Or two.

Have a great day

Kristina Werner Colour Challenge # 35

clip_image001

My very first entry to Kristina Werner's weekly challenges.  I LOVE looking at all the entries, but never seem organised enough to make a card before the deadline.  Today is different!   Today, the boys finished school at lunchtime, which SHOULD have meant that I have less time to stamp right?  Not the case, which was a nice surprise!  The boys set about trying to get out a bird that was stuck (actually probably not stuck, just hiding!) under our deck, which gave me lots of time in peace! YAY.   PC170026

RECIPE : Stampset : Eastern Blooms.  Cardstock/Ink : Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise (instead of Baja Breeze, which we don't have in NZ yet), Very Vanilla.

Hope you like it...

This is one of the cards we made last week at Inglewood High School.  It's a criss-cross card, and the inside pulls out for you to write on.  A really neat card, and an easy way to include a gift voucher or CASH with a card.    I had intended to do some scrapbooking today, but things kinda didn't quite go to plan, so maybe tonight... maybe!

RECIPE : Stamp Sets : Boho Backgrounds, Short & Sweet, Spring Solitude Wheel (Hostess).  Cardstock/Ink : Pixie Pink, Green Galore, Whisper White, Vellum Cardstock.  Accessories : Tag Punch, Spring Flower Bouquet Punch, Corner Rounder, Dazzling Diamonds.

Have a go at one of these!

Enjoy your night.

Crackers for Christmas!

Hello!   I promised that I would post the other project we made at my Gift Class, so here it is.  We made the cutest little Christmas Cracker, and filled it with goodies.   If you want to have a go, then check out the tutorial HERE on Shelley Hopps blog.  They are really sweet, and simple to make.

 PC150027

I decided to make some for my wonderful downline and gave them out at our end of year BBQ last night at my place.  I adjusted the template to try & fit in some bigger goodies, which worked well.

Girls, guess what I had for breakfast??  Yes, I admit, I had a piece of chocolate kahlua gateau left over from last night!   I KNOW!!   It was delicious...   Good job I insisted that my DH take the rest of it to work for his workmates to feast on, otherwise that would have been lunch & afternoon tea as well! LOL.

Have you heard that Sale-A-Bration will be back in January & February - you can get a FREE stamp set with any order of $120 or more.  LOVE it!  I'm taking bookings now for workshops during January or February, so if you want to earn free stamp sets after Christmas, then give me a call and book your date!

Have a great Monday!

Last class for 2008

INGLEWOOD HIGH STUDENTS - DON'T LOOK!!

That's right - don't look if you don't want to see something that we are making on our last class on Thursday night...  Today I held my last class for the year at home - a Christmas Gift Class.  I really enjoyed it.  Great women to stamp with, lots of CHOCOLATE, and the weather was PC130035just perfect.  Here are some of the projects we made.

The little box was filled with square chocolates of course, and the tutorial for it can be found HERE, on Shelley Hopps blog.   Amy Fleming has made one of these, and kindly provided the link to the tutorial - Thanks Amy!  There was one more project we made, but I'm saving it 'til another day, as it is a surprise for some lovely women.  Well, I still have no children or husband home, and it's absolute bliss.  The boys have all been gone since yesterday, and DH headed out early this morning, and is picking up children on his way home.   I guess I'll just have to go and eat some left over chocolate!   Hmmmm.   Big day - looking forward to chillin' out real soon!

Have a great night

Stamp Club today

Good evening!   What a gorgeous day.  The weather is just fabulous.  I had a great morning stamping with my Stamp Club ladies, then went to a friends for lunch with the girls.  Not just lunch - a banquet!   My friend is the most amazing hostess, and every last detail is planned and colour-co-ordinated.   The lunch was superb, and the Christmas Decorations were amazing.  Thanks so much Roanne - a great way to spend the afternoon.

Here is a little gift I made for my ladies from Stamp Club, just to say "Thanks" for being a part of the club for the last 10 months.  It's been so neat to get to know all of them more during our stamping & eating times each month.  PC100023 I bought the little Spice Jars from The Warehouse (..."where everyone gets a bargain").  But don't rush in to buy one if you want to make some of these - I bought the last ones at both stores!  LOL.  Sorry!     Here is one of the three projects we made today.  This was adapted from a pizza box template I had seen.  I've made it more rectangle, and higher so it will fit more goodies into it!   PC100028

 PC100030

I used the Baroque Basics Stamp set on the Purely Pomegranate Card, and I just LOVE how it looks - so rich.  Of course, the words are from the wonderful new set from our Mini Catalogue - Say It With Scallops ($37.95).  This set punches out perfectly with the new Square Scallop Punch ($35.95), which makes for super-easy decorating!  If you ask nicely, I might even put the instructions/dimensions on here for you to try one yourself!

Enjoy your night - I'm trying to get boys to sleep early, as they are all pretty shattered!

Just to keep you busy...

While I'm away, make sure you go and check out my bloggin M&M's!   All of the girls have been busy blogging with amazing projects - you will LOVE them.

ANGELA CORBETT    CHERIE WARD    KIM RICHARDS    &   TRUDI HOPKINSON

Great job ladies - I love your inspiration!

I'm NOT slacking - PROMISE!

That's right - even though you see that I haven't blogged since Monday (can't believe it's already FRIDAY), I've not been slacking - just really flat out busy with classes, and having some relations to stay for a night,  and getting ready for my LAST TWO CLASSES for the year, and another special little project that you will learn about a little later.  Oh, AND spending 3 1/2 hours having my nails done.  Yes, I KNOW!   They look, well, different from my usual nails.  Way to pretty to look like they belong on my crinkly old hands!  LOL.  Awesome week, but now I'm really really looking forward to a wonderful weekend with my DH out at a beach - just the two of us.  And the dog.  NOT the children (even tho my darling mother (HI MUM!) did suggest that we might like to have them come and visit - NOT).  It's our wedding anniversary next weekend, but we're busy then, so we are going out to have some time out together, and our lovely Mother's are having our boys.  Can't wait.   This is a tilt card that we made last night at Inglewood High.  The fish tilts backwards & forwards.  Very sweet card.   No time to post anything else right now - on with the next project!   Have a fabulous weekend.

As promised...

Here it is - the second post for today that I promised you!  Nearly didn't make it, due to a minor crisis at our house, in the front yard, involving six (now 5) ducklings, and a mother duck who was leaving half of her very little babies behind when she decided to go off wandering.  Our boys took this on as their mission, and caught three of the wayward ducklings that were a long way from their mother, and managed to reunite them, but unfortunately, one of the little ducklings was found very close to dead under a hedge.  Don't know what happened, or how long he/she had been there, but young Mason found it very hard to hold this little duck while it died.  Shame - cute little thing it was.  So now, the dead duckling has been relegated to NEWS in class tomorrow.  So much better when you have props to share with a story!  Anyway - here's the card I meant to share.

PB210033

This was the card that didn't make it onto the table to make at the Mini Catalogue Launch in the weekend.  Not quite sure why, but I went with "simple" instead.  Love this set - Embrace Life.  It is just lovely - will be available from Monday for you to purchase - YES, Monday is 1st December, can you believe that???

Have a fabulous night - I'm just settling down to watch Private Practice, my FAVOURITE programme.  I've had my last night with the WITT girls tonight, which was really great - such a lovely bunch of women!

The rain is pouring down, so a fabulous night to watch some t.v, then drift off to sleep with the rain pouring down around me.  LOVE IT!

Goodnight!

Unbelievable....

How's this for amazing - When I was in Waiuku, Angela kindly loaned me a fabulous card so I could make it at my Stamp Club (see card on left).   I decided to simplify it down for a Christmas Stamp-A-Stack I had a week or two ago, then changed it again slightly (adding ribbon and a jumbo brad) for another class  (see card on right).  I have just had a comment on my blog from Karen, saying that the original inspiration came from Leanne Marsters, and Karen kindly left me the link to the original card (click HERE to see the card created by Leanne).  The funniest thing is I've never seen this card, and my simplified creation is almost identical to Leanne's - even down to colours, DSP, stamp set & accessories!  How funny - I simply think that Leanne & I obviously have great taste!!

I've just set dates for my LAST TWO CLASSES THIS YEAR.   Scary!   First, I have a Christmas Gift Class (which will be sooo cool!) on Saturday 13th December.  The last class is an extra special Thank You $2 Card Class with a difference - This month, it will be $1 cards on Wednesday 03 December from 6.30pm-10.00pm.    This is to thank all the lovely ladies who come along to my classes and encourage & support me in so many ways.   Of course, there will be nibbles at both classes, and maybe even some bubbles at one of them...  See details for both classes on the right.  Places are limited for the Christmas Gift Class, and prepayment is essential due to all the goodies I have to buy to put in the gifts, and I sure don't want to be stuck with having to eat all the extras myself now, do I!?  Or do I?

Another post coming along soon - PROMISE!  Enjoy your day

Mini Catalogue Launch

Hello everyone.  Hope your day has been as great as mine!  I stamped with some wonderful women today (HI ladies!) and made some very cute projects using the new goodies from the mini catalogue that starts 01 December (8 days and counting...).  I thought you might like to see some photos, seeing as my DH  has fixed the problem I've been having with my wonderful computer!PB210032

This was the first card I made using the new sets, and I LOVE it!   Initially I thought it was too "lovey dovey" to use, but very quickly fell in love with it.  This card just "fell" together - the colours in the new Afternoon Tea paper ($13.95) are just wonderful, and provide such a great background to work from.

Stamp Set : Happy Heart.  Cardstock/Ink : Chocolate Chip, Groovy Guava, Soft Sky, Afternoon Tea DSP.  Accessories : Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon (finishing in 8 days :(  - I'll miss this ribbon!), 1 3/8" & 1 1/4" circle punches, fire brads, markers ($5.95 each until 30 November), Cutter Kit (for distressing the edges)

OK, so this little handbag doesn't photograph so well - you REALLY have to see it to believe how very cute it is - and of course, what else do you fill a handbag with but CHOCOLATE KISSES?!  YUM.

I'll post one of the cards that didn't make the cut for today's class later.  Enjoy your night

Another Christmas Card

Hi - my wonderful computer has just shut down on my TWICE while trying to post this, and I have had to scan this card now instead of photographing it.... so third time lucky!    Christmas Cards have been so easy this year, with this lovely Holiday Harmony Paper.  For just $13.95 a pack, you can make a whole truckload of lovely cards, but you only have until 30 November, so if you want some you had better hurry.   Once again, I'll try tomorrow to get my lovely computer to behave, and replace this picture!

PB190022

This was one of our Stamp Club projects today - the other two didn't photograph well at all, and now it's too dark to redo them, so you will have to wait to see them, sorry!  I have no idea what this is called, but it is perfect to give with a gift voucher, gift card, or cold hard cash in it, as well as lots of room to write some lovely notes.  It's not difficult to make, just takes a little bit of time.   Do you want the measurements/instructions??  More than happy, just let me know via my blog, and I'll  post them here.

Hope you have enjoyed your day!

A Card from Waiuku

Good afternoon!   I was given this beautiful card by the Waiuku girls, and it is stunning.  It is simple, but elegant, and the colours are just fabulous together.  Hope you enjoy!

PB170018

RECIPE : Stamp Sets : Party Punch (Hostess), Brocade Basics ($53.95).  Cardstock/Ink : Bravo Burgandy, Mellow Moss, Very Vanilla.  Accessories : Grosgrain Ribbon, Round Tab Punch.

Thanks Angela - hope you are feeling great again soon - I think I wore you out!

Have a great night - I'm off to WITT tonight, so I'll show you some of the projects we are making there sometime this week.  I decided NOT to post the "glammed up" version of the card from yesterday  - I'm making it at Stamp Club on Wednesday, and then at Inglewood High on Thursday, so I don't want to spoil the surprise for all of those ladies!

I'm home!

Hello to you all!  I'm back home again (actually got home Thursday night) but still not on top of anything!   Have had the most wonderful time with Angela and her team in Waiuku ("Hi" girls!) and also with Angela's amazing family.  Her 6 year old son just stole my heart, and I would have brought him home with me, but I kinda know that Angela and Neil would miss him so much.  What a beautiful boy you have - thanks for sharing him with me!!   (And your other two children are also just delightful!)  My boys all missed me, but I am impressed how my DH did while I was away!

Anyway, enough rambling - thought I'd quickly post two of the cards that we made today at the Christmas Stamp-A-Stack.   The ladies did so well making 16 cards in record time.  I kept the cards really really simple, so that it staying enjoyable, and didn't feel like a chore making 4 of each card.  I think I achieved that goal!

PB160022

RECIPE : Stamp Sets : Crazy For Christmas, Short & Sweet.  Cardstock/Ink : Sahara Sand, Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, Whisper White.  Accessories : Crimper, Double Stitched Ribbon, 3/4" & 1/2" circle punches.

This card was inspired by Jayne Mercer - another blog that I love!  RECIPE : Stamp Sets : Hung Up On The Holidays, Occasional Greetings.  Cardstock/Ink : Bravo Burgandy, Mellow Moss, Whisper White.  Accessories : Burgandy Organza Ribbon (retired), Versamark, Gold EP & Embossing Buddy of course!

PB160024

This is another very simple card we made today.  It was inspired by a card made by the lovely Angela Corbett, who very kindly loaned me one to take home & CASE.  This is the really basic version, ideal for classes such as this one.  Tomorrow, I'll post the glammed-up version, and show you how simple it is to make something quite simple into something really amazing!   I'm off to bed - yes, before midnight, as my stamping started at 4.00am today when I couldn't sleep....  YES - I'M ADDICTED!

Have a great night

Just to let you know...

Hey there - just a pre-warning for you all - I won't be blogging this week, because I'm off to Waiuku to visit lovely ANGELA and her team of demonstrators up there.   I'm soooo looking forward to it, and today I am spending the day getting myself organised for everything, including my WITT class  tonight, and the Inglewood High School class on Thursday night, just hours after I intend to be getting home.   LOL - WHY DO I LEAVE EVERYTHING TO THE LAST MINUTE??   No, really - WHY??   OK, so I HAVE been really busy and we have just had our School Gala Day in the weekend which was just awesome, and a squash tournament plus all the usual things.  Days seem to get busier and busier.  SO, 3 days away stamping with my friend, and spending some time travelling with my Mum who has kindly offered to go with me for company, will be fabulous.      So don't worry about my lack of blogging, I'm just letting you all know that I won't be here!   DH is working short days to take care of the children, which is just great.  Makes it so much easier.   Hope you have all had a wonderful weekend - the weather here has just been amazing.  I hope to have some great things to post once I get back from Waiuku.

Take care.

Inglewood High School Class & an exciting delivery

Good afternoon - I'm just admitting that I'm addicted to making those cute little box-in-a-bags (BIAB).  They're so darn cute, and just the perfect size to hide some chocolates from the rest of your family until you want to eat them when they are all at school...  whoops - did I say that out loud?!  LOL.  So, tonight we are making one of these, along with two other projects, so here's hoping that some of the chocolate goodies that I will buy on the way out tonight will make it to the girls.  On this BIAB I have used EIGHT PUNCHES - I don't think I have made a project before that has used this many punches!  On this BIAB I have had to add some dazzling diamonds to the cherries, because one of my ladies is addicted to bling!   HI KAREN!!  Each project we make, Karen says "I could just add a little diamonds here, couldn't I?".  She is so sweet, so tonight I've done it for her.    I have used the STAMPIN' WRITE MARKERS (which are available to purchase from Monday for 20 days individually for just $5.95 each) to colour the cherries.  If you don't have any yet, then I can assure you that they will quickly become one of your most valuable tools.  You can do so much with markers!

I GOT MY SUMMER MINI DEMONSTRATOR PRE-ORDER TODAY, so guess what I'm going to be doing for the afternoon?!!!   Oh my goodness, they are awesome!  You'll all have to wait just a little to see the goodies, but I can assure you - you'll LOVE them!  Have a great day

Hostess Gift for tonight

Hi again - here is the gift I am making as a demonstration for my lovely Hostess tonight, Helen.  Of course, it will be filled with goodies as well.  I'm only going to buy the goodies on the way to the workshop tonight, otherwise the chances of there being enough left to fill the bag are slim, if past experience is anything to go by!!  LOL.  AND, check out the clean windows in this picture - I CLEANED WINDOWS yesterday.   This is just a little unusual for me, but I also ran home from school, dragging the dog, and then washed the dog, the windows and went on to do laundry.   I'm sure DH hasn't noticed any of the above, but I do, and it's fabulous!  Obviously I was having some sort of turn yesterday, because today I'm back to NOT running, or cleaning windows, that's for sure.   Oh well - make hay while the sun shines huh?   Enjoy the box in the bag.  HEREPB040020 is the link to the tutorial done by Diana Gibbs in case you would like to make one yourself.

Cute little Tri Fold Season of Joy

Good afternoon, and happy 1st of November!   Where did October go???   As I'm supposed to be finishing getting organised for my class this afternoon, I am instead photographing & posting one of the cards we are making, because it's just so cute!  This is a tri-fold card, and once again I'm using Season of Joy, because it's just gorgeous!   The Spring Mini finishes in 30 more days, so if you are wanting Season of Joy, or anything else out of this mini, then you need to be quick.

PA310021

If you want to make one of these cards, give me a call, and book a workshop, because this is one of the projects I'm making at workshops this month.   Make the most of the last month of the Spring Mini before it disappears.  Enjoy your Saturday afternoon.

Some more eye candy - and a card!

men9

men3

OK - any many who cooks for me rates VERY highly.  Fortunately for me, my DH has already cooked twice this week, and last night told me what he's making for dinner tonight.  Unfortunately, it comes wrapped in newspaper!   Hey, at least I don't have to make it, right?!   That's so that I can fit in a game of squash, and still get out to Inglewood High School tonight to see my lovely ladies.    We are making a Christmas Card, a Vellum Card, AND a SHOE tonight.  Of course, what shoe would be complete without chocolate??  There's still time to join in the WITT class (either Monday night, or Tuesday morning) by phoning WITT.  They start NEXT WEEK.

PA110012

This was my swap card for our M&M's meeting yesterday - it was inspired by a card made by Anita Meade, a very talented Australian Demo.  Our theme was Christmas Cards, and the cards are AMAZING!   I'll post some once it gets light enough to photograph them!

OK, so I've enjoyed a giggle or two - keep watching this space, as I've got more to show you, including my FAVOURITE!!  In fact, I've GOT to show you my favourite now - I can't wait!

!!    Now, I've got to share a story from Saturday with you all - you all know that I LOVE shoes, right??  Well, we went out to the bach to visit Mum & Dad on Saturday, and played cricket and all sorts, and when we were leaving, I had dirty feet from running around on the field, so I asked my DH to pick up my shoes as he walked out the door, as I had my arms full of food, and all sorts of other stuff.   We stopped to do some shopping on the way home, and when I asked "honey, where did you put my shoes?" I was met with the blank stare that tells you that he has forgotten!  Here I was with dirty bare feet, that I was hoping to hide in a pair of socks & shoes, and wanting to do some shopping.  My DH - full credit to him - replies without  hesitation "Don't worry about that.  We'll just stop and buy you a new pair!"   WOW.  That earned him infinite brownie points, I can tell you!   LOL.  Anyway - enjoy!
